HELP!! We had a storm last night and it destroyed my rose bushes!!?!!?

Before my grandfather died he gave my grandmother 6 rose bushes which she has been lovingly tending for the last 8 years. This year her arthritis is so bad that I have had to tend to them. We had a severe thunderstorm last week and the ground is soaked and now the bushes are all dying. I have put mulch down around the bushes to try to absorb some of the water but it didn't help. The roots are too deep to remove the roses bushes and pot them - if I don't do something soon they are all going to die and it will break my grandmothers heart. Any idea will be greatly appreciated!!!
