When does The God intervene in changing the processes of an earthquake when He wants to punish/ test humans?

According to scientific thinking, a volcano erupts or an earthquake occurs due to innumerable number of activities taking place round their centers at quantum levels, atomic levels, molecular levels and at higher levels; and known and unknown other forces working on them like the force of gravity; all working together. If God intervenes in these events to punish the human beings or to test the human beings, there should be an observable point in time in these activities that could be experienced scientifically.
