Hez been a friend for 3 years. Can I go out with him?

I've been good friends with this guy at work for 3 years. He had a gf last yr for 1yr. I became friends her too. They broke up 2 mths ago. I've been helping both of them through the breakup separately. After the breakup the guy went thro a surgery and I along with my friends kinda took care of him for a week. He was touched I think. Since 2 weeks hez been trying to flatter me a little. But last night he told me on chat "you were looking so good that i wanted to dance with you.. hug you.. take u out for dinner.. drinks... just you and me" etc. I went thro a divorce last yr. I only want to go out with a guy after I've known him for a long time like in this case. But I feel guilty since I am also friends with his ex-gf who is still not over him. What do I do? :(
