What are some of the harmful affects of bulimia nervosa?

I'm just curious how the body reacts when it is periodically forced to unnaturally rid food. Does it cause your skin to break out? Does it mess up the chemicals in your body? Is it hard on your organs (heart, liver, ect,)?
