Does anyone know of or have expierience with groups that send teenagers abroad?

I am turning sixteen this summer and before I graduate high school I really want to spend time abroad either working, living with the people, doing service work, or just travelling around and participating in activities. I have heard of and done a little research on AFS and Rustic Pathways and was wondering if someone could tell me a little bit about these group or could suggest other companies/organizations? What was your expierience like going abroad?
